Shieldaig Steading is a modern self catering holiday cottage in Wester Ross.
Sitting behind an old Victorian hunting lodge on the shores of Loch Gairloch. Shaped by its agricultural past, this thoughtfully converted steading sleeps four and provides year-round accommodation, pairing modern comforts with the rugged charm of the Scottish Highlands.
A walkers path also runs alongside the property, offering access to stunning vistas. Look north across Shieldaig Bay towards Gairloch, or follow the trail further to take in sweeping views of the Applecross peninsula and the Torridon hills which sit enticingly to the south – explore the area further.
Facilities
The holiday cottage comprises 2 bedrooms/1 bathroom and is laid out over two storeys. From the ground floor, an open plan kitchen/dining room is overlooked by a bright and spacious mezzanine/living area. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, induction hob and log burning stove to supplement the underfloor heating which is powered externally via an air source heat pump and keeps the property at a steady 19-21°C.
Double and twin rooms are both furnished with bespoke plywood bed frames and Emma mattresses. The bathroom is located on the ground floor and features a walk-in waterfall shower, heated towel rail and underfloor heating.
Wi-fi is available throughout the building however connection speeds are limited in the area and can be slow at different points throughout the day depending on local demand.
Unfortunately, we don’t allow pets in the holiday cottage.

Bookings run Sunday to Sunday. Availability and prices per week are structured as such:
LOW SEASON – September 14th – April 1st £900
MID SEASON – April 2nd – June 21st £1050 (with the exception of Easter break)
HIGH SEASON – June 28th – September 13th £1350
A non-refundable booking deposit of 10% of the rent will be requested to confirm booking, with the remaining balance to be paid not less than 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. Book direct here.
